Vedic Yogi — Natural Ayurvedic energy drink

Ayurveda is something that's been catching my eye quite a lot lately. As I get more into yoga and nutrition, it brings these two things together into a lifestyle that just seems to make sense. 

Ayurveda (Sanskrit: आयुर्वेद, Āyurveda, "life-knowledge"; English pronunciation /ˌaɪ.ərˈveɪdə/[1]), or Ayurveda medicine, is a system of medicine with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent.

It involves (to cut a long story very VERY short) the idea of living based on your body and personality type. It's obvious by now that not all diets work for everyone. Some of us lose fat easily, while others find it easy to gain and difficult to shift. We also need to remember that food shouldn't be making us unhappy. It's one of our main sources of energy that we would die without — so why make it a stressful experience? Eating to suit your body and mind seems to make sense; well, it does to me anyway.

I've recently come across an energy drink that I hadn't heard of before, Vedic Yogi. This little bottle boasts that it holds zero added sugar, and is 100% natural. This is a rare find for sure. 

The ingredients have been developed and combined using Ayurvedic methods, which are believed to be perfect for lifting energy levels. As a pre workout drink, or just a pick-me-up to get you through the mid afternoon slump, this could be the natural energy source we've all been searching for.

It all sounds too good to be true, but the only way you'll know is to try it. As I said earlier, Ayurvedic medicine is based around each individual, so you need to experiment to know what is for you. It's recommended that at first you try half the bottle, and see how you get on — you don't want the full effects immediately if your body is unsure what's going on!

The only thing I have to point out from my personal experience is the taste. I fell in love with the idea of the drink — after all it would be perfect for me to use before a heavy training session, without putting the chemicals contained in a pre workout formula into my body at 5.30am. My first sip however resulted in probably one of the ugliest faces I've ever pulled. It's a really, really odd taste. Now I'm not sure whether that comes down to the Stevia used to sweeten it, as I'm not a fan of the stuff, but I found it difficult to drink. I thought I might get used to it after a few sips but that didn't happen.

I'm going to try again, maybe after I've eaten something that could compliment it, because as I said the whole idea of it just sells to me instantly. I really do encourage you to try it yourself as flavour is just a matter of opinion. It's the effects of this little drink that I'm most interested in!
