The Henna Den — Incense and henna art

One of the busiest stalls at the Om Yoga Show was The Henna Den. I was drawn straight towards it by the hazy smoke of the incense, and the amazing smell hanging around the spot. It stood out from a lot of the other stalls, brightly coloured and so inviting. The ladies who ran the stall were amazing too!

As an incense lover I was already planning on visiting their stall, but I ended up finding a whole new obsession. I've never used incense resin, so as soon as I saw it I had to ask all about it. Using a metal incense burner (I chose a hanging one as I've been on the look out for one of those), a small charcoal tablet and the resin, you end up with the most stunning and amazingly strong smelling result.

The charcoal tablets are a revelation to me. Just light one and leave it for a few minutes to turn to grey ash, then pop your incense on top of it. The amount of smoke it gives off is crazy (in a good way!) and watching it billow and swirl out of my hanging burner was hypnotising.

I went for the Prince of Persia resin, then went back again and bought the Giorgio too. I'm definitely gonna be a regular online customer now, I try to save my incense and not go through it too quickly but this is too good to keep hidden away.
